Happy Independence Day!

As we head into the week of Fourth of July there will be a lot of fun, happiness and fireworks. Dalmatian Fire Equipment is in the safety business and we would like to share some firework safety tips with you all.

This week remember to:

Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks

Know your fireworks; read the cautionary labels and performance descriptions before igniting

Have a responsible adult supervise all firework activities

Always have a bucket of water and charged water hose nearby

Dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down and place in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day

Do not wear loose clothing while using fireworks

Always have a bucket of water and/or a fire extinguisher nearby

Do Not Use Malfunctioning or “Dud” Items

Be cautious of lighting any fireworks during strong wind conditions

Never point or throw fireworks at another person

Never carry fireworks in a pocket or shoot them off in metal or glass containers

Never place a part of your body directly over a firework device when lighting

Follow your local and state laws regarding the possession and use of fireworks
